スタイリッシュなイギリス製のバターケース。様々な形のバターケースがイギリスでは長く愛用され続けていますが、日本では機能的なものが主流のようです。

今回ご紹介するバターケースは、蓋部分をひっくり返してお香の受け皿にしたり、シルバーの部分をキャッシュトレイとして使用したりと、本来の用途にとらわれず、様々な使い方を想像したくなるアイテムです。

Rather than using this piece as a butter dish, we found ourselves wanting to turn the lid upside down to use it as an incense holder, while the silver base would make a beautiful catchall or cash tray.

    毎日晩御飯の買い物のついでに、閉店1時間前のアンティーク屋さんへ向かう。各ブース隈なく目を光らせる。出会いに恵まれ、満ち足りた気持ちで帰路につく日もあれば、今日は時間切れだったと嘆く日もありました。

    ステンレスは、錆びにくく丈夫な素材ですが、使ううちに細かな傷やくもりが生まれ、少しずつ表情が変わっていきます。

    普段は、柔らかい布で乾拭きする程度で十分です。汚れが気になる場合は、水で湿らせた柔らかい布で拭いたあと、水分が残らないよう乾いた布で拭き取ってください。

    水分や塩分、汚れが長時間残ると、錆びやくもりの原因になることがあります。研磨力の強いクリーナーや硬いスポンジなどは、表面に傷をつける場合があるため避けてください。

    細かな傷や使い込むことで生まれるくもりも、ステンレスとともに重ねていく時間のひとつ。使うほどに馴染んでいく表情も楽しみながら、お手入れしていただけたらと思います。

    Stainless steel is a durable material that is resistant to rust. Over time, however, fine scratches and a soft patina may naturally appear, gradually changing its character with use.

    For regular care, simply wipe with a soft, dry cloth. If the surface becomes dirty, wipe it gently with a soft cloth dampened with water, then dry thoroughly with a clean cloth to ensure no moisture remains.

    Prolonged contact with moisture, salt, or dirt may cause rust or dullness. Please avoid abrasive cleaners and hard sponges, as they may scratch the surface.

    The fine scratches and subtle dullness that develop through use are also part of the time spent with stainless steel. We hope you will enjoy the way its character gradually settles in and becomes more familiar with use, while caring for it gently along the way.
